Mission Statement for Woody’s Circle of Care Foundation

Woody's Circle of Care FoundationThe mission of the Woody’s Circle of Care Foundation is to assist families in the Bucks and Montgomery County areas that are facing difficult times due to an illness or tragedy.

The foundation works closely with school nurses, social workers, health care providers, clergy, and community members to identify and qualify families that are in need of assistance. In addition, the foundation was established to provide hope and support to these families during their crisis.

The Story of How We Began

The Woody’s Circle of Care Foundation was established in 1999 by a group of friends who graduated from Hatboro Horsham High School in 1982.  Sadly, a series of recent tragic accidents struck family members from this group and they banded together to hold a golf outing in September 1999 at Limekiln Golf Course.  The event was pulled together quickly and the funds which were raised were immediately given to the families in need;    but they didn’t want the giving to end there.  Each of the friends felt that they were fortunate in so many ways and wanted to continue to give back to those in their community who needed help.  Thus, the Woody’s Circle of Care Foundation was established and has been running successfully for 7 years.

The Name

The foundation was established in memory of David “Woody” McDonald.  Woody was a caring father who devoted his time and energy for the benefit of his friends, family, and community.  It is the objective of this foundation to carry forward Woody’s spirit and continue his message of caring for others.
